Newest Expansion Project Operational
The Port of Aberdeen's £420 million expansion project is now fully operational. The project has been in the works for several years and has faced several setbacks and delays, but it is finally complete. The expansion project includes a new deep-water berth, a new cargo terminal, and a new link road to the A90.
The new deep-water berth is 350 metres long and can accommodate vessels up to 300 metres in length. The new cargo terminal is 100,000 square metres in size and can handle a wide range of cargoes, including containers, break bulk, and project cargo.
The new link road to the A90 will improve access to the port for both vehicles and pedestrians. The road is 1.2 kilometres long and includes a new bridge over the River Dee.
