French Open 2022: Coco Gauff Ends as Runner-Up in Singles and Doubles
Iga Swiatek Claims Second French Open Title
American teenager Coco Gauff reached her first Grand Slam singles final with victory in the French Open last four, setting up a tantalizing meeting with world number one Iga Swiatek.
Swiatek Storms Past Gauff in Final
In the end, it was Swiatek who proved too strong for Gauff, claiming a comfortable 6-1, 6-3 victory in the final to extend her winning streak to 35 matches. It was the Pole's second French Open title, having previously triumphed in 2020. Gauff, meanwhile, had to settle for the runner-up spot in both the singles and doubles competition, where she partnered with Jessica Pegula.
